Rio de Janeiro was picked as the host city for Olympic 2016, beating Madrid, Tokyo and Chicago at the International Olympic Committee voting in Copenhagen on 2nd October 2009.
Its truly a joyful moment to be selected as the host of the legendary Olympic event and no wonder the Brazalians were shouting and dancing in triumph.
So where is Rio de Janeiro? It is the second largest metropolis located in Brazil, famous for its nature settings such as the beach and forest, wonderful arts and monuments especially Christ Reedemer that you can see in the picture above, as well as interesting culture, music and carnivals.
I think Brazil is truly a great destination just like China Olympic 2008. I think countries with their unique cultures are always the best destination to host Olympic.
