Because you loved me.

1st January 1969
. An amazing woman was born into this world. And I am proud to say that she is MY MUM. =)

Happy 42nd birthday Mama! I pray each day so that Allah will always protect, bless you and grant you with happiness and healthiness. Amin~

Mama, you are definitely the best, ain't no doubt bout it. You had sacrificed a LOT for me and adik-adik.

What I am today, where I am standing today is because of you. Tiada kata-kata yang dapat dilafazkan sebagai rasa terima kasihku padamu. Ya Allah, aku bersyukur padaMu kerana dikurniakan ibu yang begitu memahami dan selalu mendorongku. Kau panjangkanlah umurnya Ya Allah.

Mama, I know I'm not such a good daughter, I may have unintentionally hurt your feelings. I'm so sorry because I never meant to. Mama, you are just like heaven to me. I promise I will study real hard to make you proud of me. Sesungguhnya, usahaku selama ini selain menjadi ibadahku kepadaNya, adalah demimu Mama. I will do anything for you because I love you more than I love myself. =')

'' You were my strength when I was weak;
You were my voice when I couldn't speak;
You were my eyes when I couldn't see;
You saw the best there was in me;
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach;
You gave me faith cause you believed;
I am everything I am;
Because you loved me =') ''

(P/S: Satu dunia tengah celebrate birthday Mama! Hee! *wink* )

Bring it On, two.thousand.eleven!

2010 was the toughest year that I had so far. There were so many ups and downs, highs and lows throughout the year. Tamaula nak cite what had happened nanti entri jadi panjang dan membosankan pulak. *Hee*

Awal 2010, I decided not to have any resolutions for the year, thinking that having any is something cliche. What should i make any when azam tahun-tahun lepas pun tak terbuat? Tu pemikiran dulu la. And I think I need to change my mindset. I need to set up some goals that I want to achieve in 2011 so that I will pull my ass off in making 'em real. I need to challenge myself. Dah nak masuk 21tahun kot 2011. Tuanyaaaa daku! Mama at my age dah lahirkan daku kot. *So agak-agak kalau mintak kawen sekarang da boley lepas la kot? =P*

So, Fatin Shafira, telitilah lek lok ko punya azam-azam tahun baru ni. Jangan lah warm-warm chicken shit pulak! *hangat-hangat taik ayam*

- Be a better person than I was before. A better daughter, a better sister, friend, lover. *Everyone's must-have new years' resolutions*

- Jadi seorang yang gagah perkasa. Not physically, but mentally la. *Ehee* 2010 banyak sangat ayaq' mata yang dibazirkan. So 2011 dah tak boley jadi big baby dah, nanti menyampah pulak orang lain. *Haha*

-Jadi diri sendiri! Bila masa pulak bertukar jadi otremen an? *Haha*

-Always remember Him in through every circumstances, susah atau senang. Allah akan bersama kita kalau kita selalu ingat Dia. =')

-Dengan family, kalau jauh, make sure call at least once a day bertanya khabar. Yeah, family is everything. Other things may change us, but we start and end with family. *wink*

-Dengan friends, treat your friends nicely. Jangan lose-contact dengan kawan-kawan lama.

-Dengan lecturers, respect them. Jangan malu nak bertanya even some people would think it is an silly question.

-Academically, cuba dapat DL pleaseeee! Dahlah belajar last minute. Cuba at least revise balik apa yang dah belajar each week. Jangan study week baru nak terhegeh-hegeh nak paham apa yang belajar 1 sem. Start dari awal lagi! Boleh sayang? *Geli pulak panggil sayang kat diri sendiri. Haha*

-Control my expenses. Ni memang azam dah berapa tahun tapi tak jadi-jadi. *Haha* Tak boleh la nak boros sangat. Nanti jadi cam previous semesters, bila akhir-akhir sem, 10 sen tu dah rasa cam RM10. *Hehe*

- Kurangkan berat or maintain my current weight. Amalkan gaya hidup yang sihat. Kurangkan pengambilan gula dalam pemakanan *Ok, dah jadi cam iklan kesihatan. Haha*

- Teruskan support Arsenal sampai bila-bila! *Ehee* I was thinking nak join Arsenal FC Malaysia Fan Club. Tapi kena tengok dulu lah kesempatan masa. =)

- Live happily ever after, even how harsh life may treat you. Hadapinya dengan senyuman, kesabaran. Tanak emo-emo. That is so not cool!! Jika ada tangisan, seelok-eloknya, ia tangisan kegembiraan. *weeeee* Cheer up k!

Errr, tu 'je' kot =P

Au revoir 2010! I learnt a lot throughout the year.
2011, bring it on! I am so ready to move on to a new chapter in life ;)

Happy New Year people!! May 2011 will be a better year to all of us, InsyaAllah =)

The Holidays

This was my first year spending "The Holidays" away from home. It was a little weird at first but thanks to the amazing friends I have made in Korea, I have had an amazing time.

Thanksgiving: My friend Sam Lazar hosted a Thanksgiving pot luck at her massive apartment in Namyangju. We ate, drank and played football and banana grams. It felt like a typical family thanksgiving! Here are pictures of the food spread and Sam and Zoe with a bottle of North Korean Soju (alcohol) that our friend Eric brought back from his trip to the DMZ.
Christmas: Last weekend was Christmas. A couple of the girls and I spend Christmas Eve at the Nutcracker in Seoul. The show was beautiful and exceeded all of my expectations. Here is a picture of the Nutcracker crew during intermission and one after the show in front of the Christmas Tree.
After the show, we headed to a Korean fast food restaurant chain called "Kimbab Nara" to enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner.

The whole crew spent the rest of the weekend in Guri (Eric's town). We woke up Christmas morning to Mimosas and Secret Santa presents. I got a great scarf and an awesome t shirt from a bar I really like in Seoul (thanks Julie!).
My friend Justine got an amazing Secret Santa present, that I am going to share with you. Her Secret Santa was Joanna, who works at an Elementary School here. Justine loves Korean children. I mean who doesn't, they are the best. Joanna got one of her cutest kids to say a little something to Justine on camera. (We call Korean children street meat: a code name. This was done to try to make our obsession with them less creepy).

We spent the day hanging out in Guri and playing games. Christmas in Korea is actually spent with your friends. Korean's usually go to church with their families and maybe exchange a couple small presents. Then they spend the night going out with their friends. Which means the clubs in Korea are packed on Christmas. Our group didn't want to miss all the fun, so we went to Monkey Beach in Apgujeong.

Happy Holidays from Korea!

All-girls schools! ;)

All-girls-school simply rock!! *sambil buat aksi rocker 80an* I went to girls' school since I was standard 1 sehingga la ke tingkatan 5. Kalau anda rajin mengira, 11 tahun ye daku belajar dekat sekolah semua perempuan. Dengan erti kata lain, 11 tahun takda pengalaman berkawan dengan satu lagi makhluk Allah kat muka bumi ni yang dipanggil "boys".

Zainab 1 Primary School. *nama nak omputeh je an.gedix!* Masa ni dajah ompat. Masa ni semua comel-comel, ramping-ramping, bebas dengan jerawat lagi. Auuww! Orang lain pose pandang depan, daku je terdongak camtu. Pfftttt.

Zainab 1 Secondary School aka SM Zainab 1. Masa ni form 5. Form 5 was the best year! Even orang lain tension nak amik Sijil Penting Mesia (SPM), but my BFFs and I did have hell lots of fun! Kalau nak cerita memang tak abes. Hee. Duk sebelah cekguu sebab daku ketua kelas. Memang jawatan peberet tu sebab boley merayau2 satu sekolah. Hee

Bukan tak dapat tawaran pergi mana-mana, in fact masa form1 & form 4 ada dapat tawaran pergi MRSM (ecececeh, nak gak bagitau kannn =P ) Tapi tak sanggup lah nak tinggalkan family, friends & the school itself.

Here, are the reasons why I think all-girls' school is simply the best!! *ditulis berdasarkan kajian dan pengalaman yang diceritakan*

1) One can speak up her mind freely. Kalau kat sekolah mixed, girls macam tak beberapa berani nak 'bersuara' sebab takut kena ejek ngan budak laki. Girls are more outspoken and competitive when boys are not around to tease them. Nak cakap pun tak boleh cakap lepas-lepas and 'open' sangat. Yes, you know what I mean =P

2) With hormones kicking into high gear during early adolescence, it is no surprise that students are easily distracted by the opposite sex. .Takde masalah boiprenn2 ni kalau semua perempuan. Kalau kat sekolah perempuan ni, senang sikit lah nak concentrate dalam kelas, takde masalah gaduh-gaduh ngan boiprenn or kena ejek ngan budak laki.

3) Tayah control ayu. Haha. Seriously! Ni dari pengalaman kawan daku sendiri. Dia cakap masa dia kat sekolah campur sulu, nak pergi sekolah mesti make sure baju di iron dengan perfecto nya, tudung sekolah 14 kali betulkan depan cermin, kadang-kadang siap berbedak ber eye liner youuu. Kalau kat sekolah perempuan pakai baju tak iron takde siapa nak pandang. Yelah, nak impress siapa? Pak guard? *haha*

4) Ada peluang nak dapat jawatan-jawatan tertinggi. *Gila pangkat betol minah ni. Haha* Kalau kat sekolah, kebiasaannya la kan, jawatan tertinggi preference nya diberi kepada boys. Ketua rumah sukan haruslah diberi kepada budak laki yang athletic or pemes-pemes gituuw. Kalau kat sekolah perempuan, suka hatilah kau nak bolot jawatan apa as long ada orang vote kau! Haha.

5) Isu malu tolak tepi. Dushhhhhh! Biasalah growing up teens, ada banyak issues. Kadang-kadang bila period pun maluuu. Kalau emo sikit budak laki cakap, "ni mesti datang bulan". Nak beli kotex kat koperasi pun "alamak, malu oden sapo nampak!" Siap berbungkus ngan paper sebab malu nak carry depan boys. *Hee* Kalau bersukan pun, girls akan lebih selesa bergerak-gerak, melompat-lompat ngan bebasnya tanpa kehadiran boys yang akan memandang mereka. Issue malu lagi!

Takdelah nak cakap girls's schools are better than mixed schools. I believe each type of school ada dia punya pros and cons nya. Tak dinafikan girls's school pun ada kekurangannya. Contoh, bila da berbelas tahun dikelilingi perempuan je, bila masuk uni mesti jadi semacam dan agak kekwat nak mix dengan boys. Tu lah yang terjadi kepada daku. *Pffftt* Jadi agak pemalu, that's why sometimes gila segan ngan boys. Heeee *Blushhh2*

Whatever it is, I love my school and I'm proud to say I was Zainabian! *tiba2 aja*. Kalau boley bila dah ada anak nanti *ok, da start berangan*, daku nak hantar diorang kat single-sex schools! *Hee*

Bye! Nak teleport gi Jakarta jap! Hee

(P/S:Malaysia Boleyyhh yaww! :D)

Bercelaru.

Family + Football = Fun!

Malaysia 3- Indonesia 0 !!

Watching football with my family was simply the best. We were cheering as if we were in the stadium. Menjerit-jerit sampai bergegar satu kampung! Each time ada goal, we were screaming crazily, jumping around the house! "We" disini is also referred to Mama and Abah yang sama-sama berteriak! *Hee* Big hug to Mama sebab belanja kitorang jerseys!

Goodluck Sayangs! ;)

Siapa yang tataw besok Malaysia lawan Indonesia Final AFF Suzuki Cup sila sembunyi dalam selimut sekarang. *Ahaa* Well, goodluck to our local heroes! Malaysia Boleh!!

Hero-hero tanah air! ;)

Antara Interesting Facts on tomorrow's match: *Forgive me for any mistakes*

*In this 8th edition of the Cup, this is the first time ever Malaysia will face Indonesia in the Finals!

*The finals will be held at 2 venues, Malaysia (Bukit Jalil) and Indonesia (tataw stadium apa..haha)

* Our team mostly consist of youngsters, ada yang umur 19 (Fadhli) but at the same time consist of experienced players such as Amri Yahyah (29 years old)

*Our talented striker, abe norshahrul kito ni, just got married today (Saturday, 25th Dec) in Newcastle a.k.a. Kota Bharu! pastu akan terkejar-kejar ke KL pula. This is what we called sacrifice. Baru je kahwin tapi terpaksa tinggalkan bini demi mengharumkan nama negara! *Salute*

*Media-media di indon melabel Safee Sali as "The New Mokhtar Dahari" selepas aksi mantepp beliau in group stage and of course during the Semi where he scored 2 brilliant goals! ;)

*Khairul Fahmi Che Mat atau Abe Apek kito has been voted as the best player throughout the competition. Cayalah Apek! To ladies, he is taken ok! Hee~ =P

*Kali terakhir Malaysia menewaskan Indon di gelangang sendiri was 21 years ago when Lim Teong Kim had scored 2 goals in the Finals of Sukan SEA 1989. Well, the goals were obviously older than me =P

The official jerseys! ;)

Today, daku berhempas pulas cari jersey kuning tu sampai menitik-nitik peluhhh tapi tak jumpa. *Sobs!* Oh, ya! If im not mistaken, they are wearing the blue one tomorrow! And I will not give-up nak cari the yellow jersey. Dah janji ngan family nak cari lagi esok pastu pakai ramai-ramai while watching the match! *Hee*

Tak kiralah where will you be watching the match, stadium itself ka, mamak ka, rumah ka, yang penting semangat MALAYSIA BOLEH!! Kibarkan Jalur Gemilang! Let's pray that the Cup shall be ours! Amin~ ;)

Gunners! ;)

Tak lupa gak, goodluck to the greatest and bestest football club in the planet, Arsenal FC who will face Chelsea in Emirates Stadium. The match will be held on Tuesday morning, (3am local time) and I am so not gonna miss it! Chelsea is a bit off the track lately and I really hope Arsenal can take this advantage. Hee! Go Gunners!!

Buh-Bye!!

KPOP Friday Merry Christmas!

Happy Friday and Merry Christmas!

Today was a great day at school! I received two packages from the States, one from my Mom and Dad and one from my older sister Shannon! It is always so nice and comforting to get something from home. It made my day (Christmas Eve). Mom, Dad, Shannon, Megan, Ali, Katie thank you so much for the presents and I miss you!

Presents from American at my desk at school!
Christmas plans: Tonight I am going to the Nutcracker in Seoul put on my the Universal Ballet Company. I am a huge Nutcracker fan; I have probably seen it over twenty times (thanks Mom and Dad) and it never gets old. After the show, most of my American friends and I are going to have a Christmas slumber party at my friend Eric's apartment in Guri, full of egg nog and attempted Christmas Carols on the piano he found in his apartment. Tomorrow we are planning on opening our Secret Santa presents and eating a home cooked brunch. A pretty solid holiday if I do say so myself!

During the last two weeks of classes I have been teaching my kids about Christmas and Hanukah. Each kid had to write a letter to Santa in English, telling him what they want for Christmas this year. Here are the top 5 things kids in Bucheon want for Christmas.

1. So much money
2. Girlfriend/Boyfriends (one kid wrote hotties)
3. House
4. Ipad or Galaxy Tab (Samsung's Ipad)

Going along with the holiday theme, I am going to leave you with a little Korean holiday music. The first video is of SHINee and Kara performing Christmas songs at a Christmas special. The next is a Christmas themed commercial for Korean Baskin Robins. It has 2NE1 guest starring in it!

Kara and SHINee: Christmas Special

Baskin Robins Christmas commercial guest starring 2NE1

Merry Christmas!

I adore her

This might sound a bit lesbian, but I’m falling in love with Ann Ward!! Siapa dia? For those who watch ANTM Cycle 15 in Astro, this might be spoiler to you, so cepat-cepat tutup page ni!!

This
super tall lady (6 ft 2= 1.88m!!) is the winner of the Cycle 15 of America’s Next Top Model! *Clap2*. What I like the most about her is in person, (cam pernah jumpa je kan), she might be seen a bit awkward, quirky and weird but when she starts to pose in front of the camera, WOWW!! AMAZING!!! I drop my jaw each time I see her stunning pictures throughout the competition.

Let’s look at some of her pictures which make her as the deserving winner.

*First call out = the best picture of the photoshoot

Episode 2: Teen Bullying (First Call Out!!)

Episode 3: Falling Angel (First call out,again!)

Episode 4: Underwater Beauty Shot (First call out & my personal favorite photo of hers!!)

Episode 5: Lucha Va Voom. (First call out, again and again!!)

Episode 7: Walking Down Rodeo Drive (5 weeks in a row, first call out!!)

Episode 10: Statues (First call out!!)

Episode 13: Cover Girl Photoshoot

In the end, Ann who dominated from the beginning – winning five back-to-back photo challenges – was crowned the season’s champion! WooHoo!! Ann will receive an Italian Vogue cover and editorial, a year of representation from IMG and a $100,000 Cover Girl Cosmetics contract. Fuhh!!

Hah. Ni antara test shoot beliau for Italian Vogue. Cantik kan?? (T_T)

Something that we can learn from this model is that we have to be comfortable in our own skin. Dulu minah ni dekat high-school pun was always bullied for being too tall and not normal. But she didn’t give a damn at those people and look where she is standing now. No matter how we look, too short ka, chubby ka, too tall ka, the most important thing is just to be yourself. I know this might sound a bit cliché, but be proud of who you are. I believe each of us is unique in our own way and what matters the most is our INNER BEAUTY. Muka cantik tapi kalau hati busuk cam bau ketiak masam lepas lari 20 pusingan pun takde guna ;)

Buh_bye! =)
